Why a title works as a wedding gift
Wedding lists are full of practical things. A pair of sealed certificates naming the couple Lord and Lady is the gift that gets picked up, read out and photographed, and it does not need to be stored in a cupboard afterwards.
Order one title for each of them so both names are recorded properly in the registry, then add a private message that appears on the certificates themselves. For anniversaries, the same pairing works beautifully, and the registry date becomes a small annual keepsake.
If you are giving it on the day, print both certificates and slip them into a card. If you are sending it ahead, schedule the delivery for the morning after the wedding, when the post-honeymoon inbox is at its emptiest.
Three ways to give it
Give the pair together
Two certificates in matching designs, framed side by side, make an unusually good first-anniversary wall.
Use it in the speech
Announcing the couple by their new styles gives a best man something to work with, at very little risk.
Add the announcement sheet
A printable proclamation page you can read from, or pin up beside the seating plan.
Wedding gift questions
Can I buy two titles in one go?
Yes. Complete one title, then create the second. Each name gets its own certificate, registry number and estate plot so nothing is shared.
Can both certificates use the same design?
They can. Choose the same certificate design for both and they frame as a matching pair.
Is it suitable as a main wedding present?
It works best as a memorable extra alongside something practical, or as a group gift when several people want to club together on something with a bit of theatre.
