Who we are
Make Me A Lord sells personalised courtesy titles and title packs at makemealord.co.uk, and is the data controller for the personal data described here. Email hello@makemealord.co.uk or write to Make Me A Lord, Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, United Kingdom.
What we collect
Your name and email address; the personalisation details you enter, such as the title, the name on the certificate, your message and any recipient name and email; your order records; and basic technical data such as device type and the pages you visit. We do not collect card numbers, and we never see them.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
To create and deliver your documents, take payment and support your order, which is performance of our contract with you. To keep the site secure, prevent fraud and improve how the personalisation journey reads, which is our legitimate interest. To send optional marketing, which we only do with your consent, and which you can withdraw in one click.
Payments and card data
Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered directly into Stripe's own secure fields and are never transmitted to or stored on our systems. We receive only the outcome of the payment, the last four digits of the card and the billing email.
Who we share it with
Only the providers who run the service for us: our payment processor, our transactional email provider, our hosting and database provider, and our analytics provider. Each is bound by contract to process data only on our instructions. We never sell your data and we never pass it to advertisers.
Where your data is held
Our database and files are hosted in the European Union. Some providers may process limited data outside the UK and EU, and where they do, transfers are covered by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Public title pages
If your registry entry is public, the title, name, registry number, issue date and any message you chose to publish are visible to anyone with the link. Registry search deliberately masks other holders. You can make your entry private, or ask us to remove it, at any time from your account.
How long we keep it
Your account, titles and documents are kept for as long as your account exists, so you can download them again whenever you like. Order and payment records are kept for six years after the order, as UK tax law requires. Analytics data is kept for 14 months. Ask us to close your account and we delete everything we are not legally required to keep.
How we protect it
Everything is served over TLS encryption. Database access is restricted by row-level security so your records are only reachable by you, document links are signed and time-limited, and administrative access is limited to the people who need it.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, restrict it, or ask for it in a portable form. Email hello@makemealord.co.uk and we will respond within one month, free of charge. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
