Terms of sale

Written to be read. Instant delivery, free reissues for life, and a refund if your pack is not what you hoped for.

1. Who we are

Make Me A Lord sells personalised courtesy titles and title packs at makemealord.co.uk. You can reach us any day at hello@makemealord.co.uk, or write to us at Make Me A Lord, Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, United Kingdom. These terms apply when you place an order with us.

2. What you receive

Every order includes a personalised title certificate as a print-ready PDF in the design you choose, an entry in our own Title Registry with a permanent ML number and a shareable title page, and a plot on our digital estate map. Anything you add at checkout, such as the Deed of Elevation, the Armorial Crest Sheet, the gift note and announcement pages, or a second certificate design, is generated in the same pack.

3. Delivery

These are digital goods. Your documents are generated and emailed to you, and saved to your account, within a few minutes of payment clearing. If you are sending a title as a gift you can choose a future reveal date at checkout, and we deliver it to your recipient on the morning of that date. Everything is delivered digitally: you view your title online and download print-ready PDFs to print yourself on whatever card you choose. Nothing is posted to you, and a printed and posted edition, when we introduce it, will be sold separately at a higher price that includes postage.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include any tax that applies. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay. Payment is taken by Stripe, our payment processor. Your card details are entered directly with Stripe and are never seen or stored by us.

5. Free reissues, for as long as you have the title

Names matter, so we fix them for free. If a name has been spelled incorrectly, or your surname changes later through marriage, email hello@makemealord.co.uk with your registry number and we will reissue the whole pack at no charge. There is no time limit and no admin fee.

6. Our refund promise

If something is not right, tell us and we will put it right. Where your documents have not yet been downloaded, or a gift has not yet been revealed to its recipient, email hello@makemealord.co.uk within 30 days and we will cancel and refund the order in full. Because the documents are personalised and issued immediately, the statutory cancellation right does not apply once delivery has begun, but that does not affect your rights where an order is faulty or not as described, and it does not stop us being reasonable.

7. How the title may be used

Enjoy it socially: on your dinner reservations, your gift tags, your signature and your wall. It must not be used to suggest legal status, official authority, a professional qualification or government recognition, or to mislead any person or institution. We may decline or cancel an order containing an unlawful, offensive or impersonating name, and we will refund it in full if we do.

8. Your registry entry

A public title page shows the title, name, registry number, issue date and any message you chose to publish. Registry search results are deliberately partial so that other holders cannot be browsed. You can make your own entry private, or ask us to remove it, at any time from your account.

9. What the title is, and what it is not

Make Me A Lord supplies personalised courtesy titles: a beautifully typeset certificate, an entry in our own Title Registry with its own ML number, a plot on our digital estate map, and the optional ceremonial extras you choose alongside them. A courtesy title is a style you may adopt and enjoy socially. It is not a peerage, it is not granted by the Crown, Parliament or any government body, and it is not recorded in any official or state register. It confers no land, no rank, no precedence, no legal rights and no professional standing. It should not be used on passports, driving licences, visas or any other official document, and it must never be used to mislead a person, an employer or an institution. Beyond that, wear it well: use it on your dinner reservations, on your gift tags and on the wall.

10. Liability

We do not limit liability where the law does not allow it, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, our liability for an order is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

11. Complaints and governing law

If you are unhappy, email hello@makemealord.co.uk and we will respond within two working days and aim to resolve matters within 14 days. These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
